Ashley Schroeder, MPH
Biography
Ashley joined ISER in 2022, and her current projects include:

- Alaska Aviation Workers Safety Study
Prior to her work at ISER, Ashley worked as a public health educator specializing in maternal and child health. In 2020, she received her Master of Public Health degree from UAA. Her Master’s research focused on contaminant migration in soil and possible health implications prior to the development of an urban farm. Ashley also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from UAA which she received in 2014.
Her personal research interests include environmental toxicology (especially as it relates to maternal and child health), the effects of environmental factors (soil, air, water, and ecosystems) on human health, environmental contaminant prevention and remediation strategies, and One Health and EcoHealth paradigms and their effects on human health. In her spare time Ashley enjoys cultivating her garden, hiking with her family, exercising, and reading classic sci-fi novels.
