Ever wonder what happens inside a glacier? Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 8 for a talk on glacier caves, some of the most dynamic and least documented features of glacier systems. Research shows they can form, evolve, and even disappear within short periods of time!
Hosted by the University of Alaska Anchorage, Department of Geological Sciences and ISER, Prof. Dr. Andreas Pflitsch of Ruhr University Bochum will introduce his ongoing research in Alaska, and Ms. Lorena Paff will share findings from a multi-year investigation tracking changes inside a glacier cave at Root Glacier in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park.
When: Thursday, October 8 at 4 p.m.
Where: ConocoPhillips Integrated Science Building, room 120
Refreshments provided!
