Alcohol & Other Substances – Harm Prevention
Alcohol is the fourth-leading preventable cause of death in the U.S. and contributes to the top nine causes of death in Alaska. Fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASDs) are a major cause of health issues and health disparities in Alaska. One in 25 Alaska women report drinking alcohol during pregnancy. CBHRS has studied evidence-based, public health approaches to reduce unhealthy alcohol use and related harms.
