Institute of Social and Economic Research Associate Professor of Economics, Dr. Mouhcine Guettabi, is to participate on an upcoming panel to follow up on the forum earlier this year, The Costs of Alaska’s Economic Roller Coaster, which examined and discussed the costs of a start-and-stop economy and the benefits of a stable source of state income. The Alaska Common Ground event, What kind of Alaska do we want?, will be moderated by Thea Agnew Bemben, principal and founding partner of Agnew::Beck Consulting, and take place on Tuesday, December 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the 49th State Brewing Company. Other experts to weigh in on the topic include Senator Natasha von Imhof (Co-Chair, Senate Finance Committee), Ethan Berkowitz (Mayor, Municipality of Anchorage), Greg Razo (VP Government Relations, CIRI) and Larry Persily (Attwood Chair, Dept. of Journalism, UAA).
