Congratulations to Mouhcine Guettabi, Associate Professor of Economics at ISER, on receiving the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Community Engagement and Service and ISER Associate Director Alexandra Hill, Senior Research Professional Tobias Schwoerer, and Information System Specialist Christopher Start on being recognized for the the longevity of their service to the university.
The Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Community Engagement and Service recognizes the great benefit Guettabi provides the community through the broad dissemination of his research and expertise. Guettabi directs ISER’s special research initiative, “Investing for Alaska’s Future,” which is intended to help Alaskans better understand the relationship between government policies and economic development and to monitor state economic and fiscal conditions. Over the past year, he has provided multiple public presentations that include research analyzing Alaska’s economy, how the state’s recovery compares to other oil dependent states, and, with University of Alaska’s Center for Economic Development Executive Director Nolan Klouda, the economic impact of Governor Dunleavy’s vetoes on the economy.
The Chancellor also recognized, for the longevity of their service to the university, Senior Research Professional Tobias Schwoerer (10 years), Information System Specialist Christopher Start (10 years), and ISER Associate Director Alexandra Hill (30 years).
