ISER’s Jennifer Schmidt, Assistant Professor of Natural Resources Management, is part of the Indigenous Foods Knowledges Network (IFKN), bringing together Indigenous leaders, community practitioners, and scholars (both Indigenous and non-Indigenous) focused on research and community capacity related to food sovereignty and Indigenous Knowledge.
IFKN was initiated under a four-year National Science Foundation “research coordination network” grant under the direction of a research team at the University of Colorado and the University of Arizona. Schmidt’s role is to provide support as needed for ISER data to help with decision-making.
